I recently got a Windows Mobile 6.5 device, and quickly found I wanted to customize the home screen. I wanted to add weather, add the applications I run regularly, and also add in people who I regularly call.

Fortunately I found an app on the Marketplace that does all the above, and the best thing is that it is free!

It's finger friendly, I managed to do all my customization without resorting to the stylus on my HP iPAQ Glisten. This app allows you to rearrange the home screen panels to your liking by simply pressing, holding and then dragging the panels around (See left most screenshot). You can also add additional panels or remove existing panels.

The app is on US Marketplace under Tools category. Or use keyword "home screen" to search for it, you can get more info from the developers website here.

That customizer looks pretty good.  I was looking for something to work similarly on the HP 910c, tried a few free shells and they didn't work very well for me.  I ended up getting SPB mobile shell and like it a lot, they had it for half price over the holidays.  It's good to see that there are some developers coming out with different applications.
